Keeping Your Fire Going As a Blogger

We all know that life comes with the really highs and really lows. As a blogger though, how do we deal with that? It’s only natural that when we’re on a high our creativity spikes, and when we’re low the last thing we want to do is write a word down. Breaks are ok, I may even say that they’re a necessity. Whether if it’s for a week or two or three, wouldn’t you much rather put high-quality content up instead of a post you whipped up for the sake of getting content up? When I started Nancy Sparkles, I made a promise to myself to never give up quality over quantity. I see the temptation all the time when it comes to convenience and stats, but that’s just not me and the way I want to put content out for my readers. When life gives you the lows, how do you bounce back from that? How do you keep that creativity thriving through it all? In this post I’m going to show you how I keep my fire going as a blogger and what helps me come back like nothing ever happened!

No, but really, how cute is this bracelet?! You can find this bracelet with a ton of other “refreshingly honest” sayings at UnCensor Yourself’s Etsy Shop: http://bit.ly/UncensorYourselfNS

So what exactly do I do that helps me bounce back and keeps my fire going as a blogger?

  • FAKE IT ‘TILL YOU MAKE IT– I know we’ve all heard this before, but have you ever truly practiced it? I know it’s hard to crack a smile when all you want to do is everything but. However, once you start putting even the most minimal effort to better your attitude, you’ll eventually let go of the gloomy cloud that’s hovering over you. So the next time you want to coop yourself up at home and your friends invite you out, go out and have fun and let the past stay in the past.
  • #GOALS– Regardless of what’s going on your life, if you keep working towards your same goals you’ll stay focused. One way or another, you’ll still have your eyes on the prize. The real trick is how committed you are. From the start, you have to go into this blogging venture for A reason. Whether it’s money or a creative outlet, you’ll always stay focused if you have something to remember why you started this adventure in the first place. When you have these goals to build your foundation on, you’ll always think “this is what got me here and why I need to keep going.”
  • POSITIVE VIBES– As cliché as it may sound, positive vibes = positive life. Keeping your head up in moments of doubt and fear can get you through anything that life throws at you. I know it doesn’t make it any easier to deal with whatever it is you’re going through, but it’s the fastest way out. More importantly, taking the positive route brings you out of that rut even stronger than you were before. A stronger heart, an open mind, whatever it is, you’ll come out with a lesson learned.
  • CREATIVITY IS CONTAGIOUS– Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. More importantly, those who help you thrive. I recently read a devotional about this very topic comparing how you surround yourself to people as the type of soil your seed (you) is planted in. Ever since I read it, it’s resonated with me in so many ways. Mainly because it’s so true. If you’re a creative blogger, surround yourself with people who bring that out in you. Not only that, but who want the best for you. That source of positive energy and accountability will make a world of difference when times get tough and you need to bounce back with the fire in your belly.

“If you plant yourself among those who don’t understand or respect your desire to grow up into a life that matters, you may give up on growing…Your seed must be planted in good soil, with those who are growing as well and are committed to your growth: a place where you can be rooted and grounded in love among those who are pursuing freedom away from the lures of superficial living. Simply wanting to grow is not good enough: good soil is everything.”
